Construction materials testing — Columbus, Ohio

Field testing verifies that the materials placed on your project match what the specifications require. We provide certified technicians, calibrated equipment, documented chain of custody, and daily field reports issued the same day.

ASTM C31 · C143 · C138 · C231

Field testing services

  • Fresh concrete testing — slump, air content, temperature, unit weight, and cylinder casting
  • In-place soil density and moisture testing
  • Asphalt placement observation and in-place density
  • Masonry, grout, and mortar sampling
  • Aggregate sampling and gradation sample collection
  • Specimen identification, transport, and chain of custody
  • Subgrade verification and proof-roll observation
  • Trench backfill and pipe-bedding compaction

ACI 306 · ASTM C1074

Cold-weather concrete monitoring

Winter placements require more verification, not less. Concrete placed below 40°F needs protection, and the record of that protection is what allows forms to come off and post-tensioning to be released on schedule.

  • ACI 306 cold-weather protection verification
  • Placement and ambient temperature logging
  • Insulation and enclosure observation
  • Field-cured cylinder programs for form removal and post-tensioning release
  • Maturity-method strength verification to ASTM C1074 for accelerated schedule decisions

Accredited partner laboratories

Laboratory testing

Laboratory analysis is performed by AASHTO-accredited partner laboratories under documented chain of custody. We collect, identify, transport, and track specimens; the accredited laboratory performs the analysis and issues the result.
